What is Householders Yoga?

Householders Yoga describes a simplified form of yoga accessible to all people who live in society, care for their families and have responsibilities to their communities. Join a class, book a private session for you, your family, a group or a school. Classes are curated to suit specific group dynamics.

A typical kundalini class begins with tuning in to ourselves using breath and the Ari Mantra. We set an intention and practise a kriya (exercise set) curated to that intention. This is followed by relaxation that incorporates sound instruments which may include crystal singing bowls, the wind gong, voice and/or the medicine drum. Each class finishes with either a breath meditation or a chanting meditation.
 

Collaborate with me in a private session to create your own personal daily practice. Research has shown that a consistent daily practice significantly reduces mood disturbance, anxiety and fatigue as well as increasing energy, feelings of well-being, enhancing attention, working memory and memory recognition and improving emotional regulation. I can personally testify to all of the above.

Classes 
Tuesdays: 5:15pm-6:15pm

A kundalini class for those who want to practice in the afternoons. Teens and tweens welcome.

Thursdays 7am-8am

Kundalini yoga for the morning people.

Pop-up Weekend Classes

Special 1.5-2-hour classes that include a 

30-minute sound bath for deep relaxation.

All classes are financially accessible. There is a recommended donation but pay what you can and choose the amount to suit your circumstances. No judgement, as we are all human doing the best that we can, and income should not be a barrier to your well-being.

About Me

My name is Sally Novak

Yoga has been part of my life for 20 years and I am passionate about sharing tips and practices with others to achieve balance and harmony in the chaotic world we live in. I understand that every person is different, and it is my wish to assist you to find the daily practice that suits you.

My first daily practice was ten minutes, and it changed my life. It resolved personal health problems, developed my self-confidence and resilience, and inspired me to complete Ashtanga teacher training in 2014. I discovered Kundalini Yoga five years later and was so transformed by it that I completed a 2nd teacher training, so I could share this practice with others.

I am a trained actor and schoolteacher with the skills, experience and the confidence to engage diverse groups of all age and abilities. I have shared my practice with both adults and children in a variety of contexts and can cater for a class or private session to suit individual or group needs.  Whether you want to move your body, reach spiritual growth, relax, be more present, transmute anxiety, develop confidence and/or create a family routine, I know you’ll benefit from practising with me.

Kundalini Yoga is a practice that seems to work from the inside out . The movements strengthen the body and the breathing and chanting brings calmness to your soul. This practice truly creates a space to reflect and rejuvenate.

I had never tried this yoga before going to Sally’s class but the exercises are accessible to all as we are always encouraged to listen to our own body. Sally has created an open non judgemental environment that attracts a diverse group of ages and abilities so come along and give it a go! 

At the end of the session Sally leads us through an amazing sound bath during relaxation. This is a beautiful experience. Crystal bowls and the vibration gong sing out and dance through your whole body and mind. This can leave you feeling anything from peaceful to energised , confident or purposeful to move forward into your day or evening.

Group Session

Be Yourself, Be Radiant

Group classes are held live and are designed to clear your energetic pathways and connect you to your inner self. My classes are accessible for all levels of fitness and mobility. Kundalini yoga combines breath, movement, meditation and mantra to ground you and bring you into balance. As you become more self-aware and in tune, you will become more energetic, calm and radiant. 

Create your own group and book a time that suits you. I can come to you or we can use a public outdoor space. $80 plus travel costs if more than 15 minutes outside of Newcastle 

Personal Coach

Yoga Is Self Care

My passion is to assist others to create their own personal practice. Schedule a private session with me and I will teach you tools and techniques and tailor a personal practice to suit your needs and desires. Suggestions include building self-confidence, self-empowerment, fertility. increasing energy, becoming grounded, managing stress and developing creativity. Sessions can be scheduled online or in person indoors or outdoors. I can also create a video with a practice designed especially for you.

A session can include a sound healing.

My years of experience teaching children yoga and drama have taught me how both these activities are excellent for building confidence and resilience. I am a primary trained teacher and used to working in a school setting. I am eager to continue working with schools as a contractor. I am flexible and willing to work with you to find a program that best suits your school's needs. I can also train teachers how to integrate mindfulness into the classroom. Stress, anxiety, hormones, social media, video games and the modern busy lifestyle can all lead to disconnection. Taking an intentional break can bring inner peace to each individual in the household and sharing the practice deepens the connection with self and each other.

 Reduce stress and anxiety, develop self-awareness and improve general wellbeing with kundalini yoga exercises and meditations. These use lots of rhythmic movement and sound to distract the thinking mind and tone the nervous system which appeals to young people, especially neurodivergent and those with anxiety.
